The Apple Tree Foundation for Woodland Youth is a Local Education Foundation (LEF), a tax-exempt, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, created to support the students and teachers of the Woodland Joint Unified School District. The Apple Tree Foundation is one of more than 400 Local Education Foundations supporting public schools in California. The Apple Tree Foundation for Woodland Youth is independent of the Woodland Joint Unified School District and its Board of Trustees. The Foundation enjoys a cooperative, supportive and respectful relationship with the District and Board since the common goal is to enhance and further the education of the students of the District. The Apple Tree Foundation for Woodland Youth is a member of the California Consortium of Educational Foundations (CCEF), which provides guidelines for effective operation and a network among LEF's.
